Myra Ical Alleged Murderer Arrested

I've been following the case of murdered Houston transwoman Myra Ical that happened before I moved back to town.

I was happy to find out while perusing the news last night that the waste of DNA who allegedly committed the crime was already locked up at the HPD Hilton.

46 year old homeless man Lucky Ward was arrested in November and already charged in the strangulation death of 52 year old homeless woman Retia Faye Long.

It turned out that Ward had been busy on a serial killing spree.  His DNA connected him not only to the June murder of 24 year old Raquel Mundy, whose car broke down across the street from the Greyhound Bus Station downtown, but to another murdered homeless woman named Carol Flood.

Ward's DNA also links him to Myra Ical's murder and another Houston transwoman, 40 year old Gypsy Rodriguez who was found dead inside her north Houston home on September 13.

So now that we hopefully have our man, it's time for the Harris County prosecutors to do their thang, prosecute alleged killer Lucky Ward.     Hopefully a jury will find him guilty and send his behind up I-45 to Huntsville for a long time

J-Street: Not Kosher !

You would think that even a George Soros funded, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic group that was trying to pass itself off as the mainstream voice of American Judaism would have the smarts to offer some Kosher cuisine at their conference.

Ah....no:

When I arrived at the conference this morning, before 8 a.m., I asked a staff person if the breakfast would include kosher options. She told me it would. But when the food arrived, there was nothing kosher to be found–not even fruit. I sufficed with coffee and decided to wait for lunch, when–with an hour of free time–I could rush on the metro to a kosher restaurant.

When that time came, I got ready to hurry out of the conference room only to be told by multiple J Street staffers that there were sandwiches for purchase across the building and yes, some of them were kosher.

You can guess what happened next. I arrived at the sandwich cart and requested the kosher option. I got a blank stare in return, and when I asked the manager she told me she had no idea what I was talking about. She hadn’t heard anything about kosher sandwiches. The best they could do, they said, was a regular turkey sandwich with the cheese taken off. No good.

From the comments:

I attended the conference last year with a small group of open-minded Orthodox students from my university, no kosher food to be found. We notified one of the senior staff of J Street who apologized and told us it was an organizational slip, that they had ordered kosher food but it somehow didn’t arrive. At least this time they didn’t lie about not expecting any observant attendees.

Funny. Is J-Street knowingly so far out of whack with traditional Jewish values that they assumed any Jews who even went to the trouble of keeping Kosher would never show their face at their conference? Or was it a deliberate slap in the face to observant Jews, a way to make them uncomfortable and feeling unwelcome?

Why not just host a pig roast, and get it out in the open and over with?

Jews may be perceived as smart, but they are really simply better educated, which outside of Israel has not helped their survival skills any (would you rather be lost in the woods with Sarah Palin or Barack Obama?). Liberals too as a whole may also be better educated but have less common sense than your average bricklayer. You would think that, in order to maintain the charade that J-Street is some type of "Jewish" organization, they would at least make a feeble
attempt at keeping kosher.

Comical in its ineptness, like so much of the Left's efforts. The equivalent, I suppose, of a Russian spy trying to work his way into secret corridors without dropping his
Boris Badenov accent. One would shake their heads before showing them the door.

Which is what should happen to J-Street, of course. Which is what would happen, if so many weren't intent on seeing them succeed...

Glad I Wasn't Watching The Oscars Last Night

The 83rd Oscar ceremony was televised last night.   I kept myself busy with other productive uses of my time besides watching that melanin free awards telecast.

After talking to Renee of Womanist Musings last night, glad I did.

Seriously, a tribute to Gone With The Wind on a night in which African Americans were already pissed about having no Black actors, actresses or even behind the camera personnel nominated for Oscars?

Then you add insult to injury with a half azzed tribute to Lena Horne, one of our beloved performers and civil rights icons?

No wonder there's such crappy movie selections at the local multiplex these days.

And I'd love to see a Black themed movie that didn't involve 21st century coonery on the screen.   Spike?  John Singleton?  Hudlin brothers?  Robert Townsend?

Just hope Oscars 2012 is kinder to actors of color in Hollywood.     But then again I won't be holding my breath on that one.

Cavalier Wargames Show 2011.

The reject's met up yesterday at Cavalier 2011 Wargames Show at Tonbridge Wells, it's a small show we go to every year and to me it's famous for it's bad yellow lighting in it's new venue and me wanting to leave after a short amount of time (half hour) but this year the lighting has been improved/changed and it greatly helped my staying power. Got some paint, pig iron miniatures, west wind WWW2 wolverines, a pack of copplestones partisans and a wargames illustrated. The show seemed to be well attended with the bring and buy especially heaving, a lot of familiar faces and traders, we arrived at 1000hrs and were gone at 1230hrs. Then back to mine for a small quick zombie wargame and cheese and ham rolls, mars bars and chocolate cake (which people forgot to eat (Ha Ha).

Apologies about the quality of pictures and captions, it must have been the good light.

The good light!

Some nice wargames on show.

Ray from Don't Throw a 1.

The bring and buy hall, the calm before the storm.

More lovely wargames in progress.

And again.

Excellent display game, best in show to me.

The bring and buy scrum, kept this way most of the day I hear.

Some re-enactors wargaming what they were re-enacting through uniform.

Traders in general said business was good.

A lot of people were at the show with the usual bottlenecs.

Easy to put on wargaming not many models or figures required but it looked good and they seemed to be having fun.

You Shady Gay, Inc Peeps And Transgender Sellouts Have a Problem With Bloggers?

Had to chuckle when the word trickled through the trans grapevine that some  trans sellout leaders and their 'equality' organization handlers were more than a little upset about the firestorm of criticism we've stirred up over the worthless trans rights bill in Maryland.
Too damned bad.  I don't care.   I'm looking out for my community since your white run 'equality' organizations damned sure aren't and don't care about anything but 'all marriage all the time'.
If you 'equality' organizations and trans sellout 'leaders' have a problem with bloggers like the TransGriot and friends exposing your shady dealings and jacked up trans civil rights laws that won't protect anyone, there's a breathtakingly simple solution to not having me chew on your azzes on a regular basis.
Do the morally correct and decent thing.   Live up to your Dallas Principles and write and pass comprehensive trans civil rights legislation.   Amend HB 235 to correct the flaws and push that comprehensive bill as hard as you're doing the marriage one.   But then again, who am I kidding?   That's not in your nature to do so and I have a better chance of coming out of plastic surgery looking like a supermodel than seeing that happen. .
It's in your DNA to screw trans people, and y'all haven't been able to or have refused to do the right thing since the 1970's.
I've long ago concluded this is calculated, and y'all aren't that breathtakingly incompetent or stupid to write a trans rights bill that doesn't cover public accommodations.   If you are, this community needs to civilly sue you for committing civil rights malpractice.
We bloggers may not be able to stop from long distance this horrific monstrosity of a bill from getting through the Maryland legislature.   However, we do have tools at our disposal to ensure that if it does, your shady tactics in pimping this travesty of a law are exposed, it will be painful, and there's a record of how y'all screwed the trans community here and in perpetuity so the process in not repeated somewhere else.
So if you have a problem with me or any other blogger for calling y'all out, too damned bad.
