BOSTON — Scott Clark of Summerside was the first Prince Edward Islander to complete the 114th Boston Marathon on Monday.
Clark, 46, had an official time of two hours 43 minutes 28 seconds (2:43:28). He finished 287th overall.
Kenyan Robert K. Cheruiyot set a new course record of 2:05:52. Ethiopia’s Teyba Erkess was the women’s winner in 2:26:11.
A total of 17 Islanders were registered for the race, with 15 completing the course.
David Kelly Keith was the second-finishing Islander in 3,267th place. The 45-year-old from Kensington had a time of 3:13:39.
Mark Victor, 46, had a time of 3:16:59. Victor is from Charlottetown.
Marcos Lores, 36, of Charlottetown completed the race in 3:23:58.
The next-placing P.E.I. runner was Jules Aucoin, 45. From Summerside, Aucoin stopped the clock in 3:27:06.
Paul Dalton, 51, of St. Edward finished in 3:29:47.
First female
Jennifer Nickerson of Charlottetown was the first P.E.I. female runner to finish. The 35-year-old’s time was 3:35:13.
Michael Irvine, 52, posted a time of 3:38:52. Irvine is from Summerside.
Beverly Walsh, 48, of Charlottetown finished in 3:42:08, and Charlottetown’s Dianne Boswall, 49, completed the course in 3:45:30.
The official time of Cornwal’s Kim Bailey, 45, was listed at 4:00:02.
Michael Gaudet, 56, registered an official time of 3:59:36. Gaudet is from Charlottetown.
Jo-Anne Shea posted a time of 4:12:48. Shea, 51, is from Stratford.
Shawn Shea, 53, also from Stratford, was the next Islander at 4:17:52.
Robert Burt, 36, of Summerside stopped the clock in 4:48:53.
Loretta Van Ekris of Charlottetown and Sandra McConkey of Stratford were also registered, but their results could not be found.
There were more than 26,000 runners registered.
