After seeing my swatch of BB Couture Sea of Cortez over Creative Hot Pop Blue, Rebecca asked me what SoC might look over greens. And, I thought wow what a great question!
For reference, here is Sea of Cortez and the swatch of it over Hot Pop Blue:
So I tried BB Couture Sea of Cortez over many things with varied success.
SoC over (top to bottom) Essie Shelter Island, Essie Greenport and Essie Sag Harbor (base polishes alone first). Nice selection of intensity of blue:
Sea of Cortez over (top to bottom) BB Couture Laguna Lagoon, China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and BB Couture Electric Avenue(base polishes alone first). Neat range here! The Laguna gives a tropical green ocean effect, the turquoise a green jelly effect and the Electric Avenue gives close to the Hot Pop Blue effect but paler. Nice!:
Sea of Cortez over (top to bottom) China Glaze In the Lime Light, Sinful Gorgeous, and China Glaze Blue Sparrow (base polishes alone first). Another interesting bunch of shades. the very green one is kinda fun!:
Sea of Cortez over (top to bottom) OPI Sahara Sapphire, Misa Dirty, Sexy, Money, and China Glaze Watermelon Rind (base polishes alone first). I actually love these. The Sahara Sapphire adds neat shine to it, DSM looks like a brooding ocean green, and Watermelon Rind becomes bluer and even shinier!:
Last AND least, I wanted to see it over red. BLEAH!! Sea of Cortez over (top to bottom) China Glaze Sass in a Glass, Sally Periwinkle and Orly Garnet Truth(base polishes alone first). Do not want. The Periwinkle one is okay.:
Well I hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration! Feel free to ask for more requests, any of you.
